Sex And Muscle Building

Hello guys,

here is the answer of your most beloved question. ”Does sex affect muscle building?”. I am sure many of you wonder if your sexlife is keeping your progress behind. We can not deny the fact that there is a strong connection between sex and muscle growth, but in what extent and how much it affects your workout results we will discuss it below.

 Sex And Muscle Building

Let’s Begin With Some Facts

An average men has about 34 thoughts about sex per day and the rest hours he is waiting for these thoughts. Especially at the age of 18-35 anything can become a sex thought.

Also if a man had to choose between a very wealthy life without sex and a poor but very active sex life, he would choose the second option.

Sex, food and sleep is for men the magic combination of happiness. Who said that men are complex?

Furthermore, an elevated desire for bedroom stories means also a high libido, is something wrong with that?

Libido or known as sex drive is a persons desire for sexual activity. The two basic sex hormones that regulate libido are testosterone and dopamine. This means that increased libido comes with increased testosterone levels. Testosterone is a steroid hormone that plays a key role in muscle and bone building for men.

So if you cannot stay away from your partner or yourself your testosterone levels will be high and the more testosterone you have the more likely you are to hit your most desired results in the gym.

Also dopamine, that is responsible for feelings of pleasure and euphoria, can be a major motivation factor for the gym. Many people often confuse an adrenaline rush with a dopamine rush, but the results are pretty much the same when it comes to a workout – increased heart rate, excitement and the feel of Herculean strength.

Imagine the correlation between libido and testosterone as a circle. The higher your libido is the higher your testosterone levels will be and this will maximize your muscle growth. But if your testosterone levels are elevated , your libido will also be high and therefore your sex mood will be constantly ”on” reproducing the cycle for your benefit.

So Far So Good

And even better if you consider that most men think of sex as their anti depression pill. When you are experiencing stressful periods, the cortisol levels in your body increase, something that can negatively affect your muscle building process.

But what about the zinc levels in your body after sex or masturbation?

This should be your biggest concern  if you are serious about muscle gain. After each orgasm your body loses a big amount of zinc. Zinc is the number one factor that helps muscle building and not only. Low levels of this critical mineral can cause sleep problems, depression, prostate cancer and lower energy levels.

This means that you should eat more spinach, seafood, wheat germ(toasted), pumpkin and squash seeds, nuts, beans, mushrooms, cocoa and chocolate, chicken and beef or consider taking a supplement.

Sex&Other Factors

Men always seem to fall asleep after intercourse. Research shows that during ejaculation, men release a cocktail of brain chemicals, including norepinephrine, serotonin, oxytocin, vasopressin, nitric oxide (NO), and the hormone prolactin. The release of prolactin is linked to the feeling of sexual satisfaction, and it also mediates the “recovery time” that men are well aware of—the time a guy must wait before “giving it another go.” Studies have also shown that men deficient in prolactin have faster recovery times.

Prolactin levels are naturally higher during sleep, and animals injected with the chemical become tired immediately. This suggests a strong link between prolactin and sleep, so it’s likely that the hormone’s release during orgasm causes men to feel sleepy.

When it comes to masturbation things are different because the levels of prolactin are 4 times less than they would be after intercourse.

This means that it is better to go to the gym 3-5 hours after sex, unless you want to flirt with the bench for a goodnight sleep.

The only way sex can affect your results is when you have crossed the line and the only thing you think about or do is this. If you have a balanced life, focus on your goals, train like a beast and eat well nothing can keep you behind. Besides, a juicy life or the desire of a juicy life can be more motivational than you imagine.
